The three kinds of assembly, in plain words
Ghana's districts are run by assemblies of three kinds. The kind depends on how many people live there.
- A metropolitan assembly is for a very large city, with at least 250,000 people.
- A municipal assembly is for a large town, with at least 95,000 people.
- A district assembly covers a smaller area, with at least 75,000 people.
