What is going stale
Published rather than hidden. 19 of our 65 figures are either from a source that has not released a newer year, or were entered by hand and are due a re-check. A page that only shows you its fresh numbers is telling you half of what it knows.

Using this data
- Can I quote these figures?
- Yes, with attribution to SchoolRegistry Ghana and to the original source named against each figure. We would rather be cited than scraped, so everything here carries its source and the year that source is reporting.
- How current is this?
- The store is refreshed on the second of every month, and was last written on 2026-10-13. Where a source has not published since, the page shows the year that source is reporting rather than implying the figure is current.
- Which of these did you collect yourselves?
- The school register, its mapping and its telephone coverage, marked in gold. Everything else comes from WAEC, the Ministry of Education, the Ghana Statistical Service, the World Bank and UNESCO, and is named.
- What are the top SHS schools in Ghana for 2026?
- There is no official top list. A ranking needs a published method, and the only official grouping we can point to is the Category A, B and C system used in school placement. Our categories page explains what the categories mean and the official counts of places.
- What is Ghana ranked in education?
- No international ranking is compiled here. What is published is the figures themselves, each with its source and year, in the indicators and stories on this page.
- What are the 5 levels of education in Ghana?
- Our guide to the education system sets out the stages from kindergarten to university, how long each lasts, which exam ends it and who runs it, with the enrolment figures beside them.
- What are the current education issues in Ghana?
- The stories on this page show where the data points to gaps, such as the lower scores of pupils in rural, public and deprived-district schools, pupils per teacher, and how far northern Ghana trails, and each one says what the data cannot show.
- Why do the graduate field shares not add up to 100?
- Because UNESCO leaves a large part of Ghana's graduate body unclassified. They are individual shares of the graduating cohort, not slices of a whole, and they are not drawn as a pie.
