University cut-off points in Ghana: UG, KNUST and UCC
Three universities publish cut-off points on their own sites: the University of Ghana (63 lines, 2026/2027), KNUST (109 lines, printed under cut-off aggregates for 2024/2025 academic year admissions) and UCC (103 programmes, column headed AWAITING (2025)). A cut-off is an aggregate, so a lower number is the harder place to get. The years and applicant groups differ between the three, so compare programmes with care.

These are different years and applicant groups, so the table shows what each prints and not a like for like comparison.

Questions people ask
- What are the cut-off points for KNUST 2026 and 2027?
- KNUST's own April 2026 guide prints 109 cut-off aggregates under the heading cut-off aggregates for 2024/2025 academic year admissions. KNUST's own published guide is the source used here, and figures reported elsewhere for 2026/27 are added once KNUST publishes them. They are on our KNUST page.
- What are the UG cut-off points for 2026 admissions?
- The University of Ghana prints 63 lines for 2026/2027 on its admissions site, copied cell for cell on our UG page.
- What are the UCC cut-off points for all courses in 2026?
- UCC's cut-off page lists 103 programmes under a column headed AWAITING (2025), copied on our UCC page. UCC's admission notice says 107 programmes are open for the 2026/2027 cycle.
- What is a cut-off point?
- It is the aggregate a university uses to select candidates for a programme, and KNUST and UG publish the previous year's figures as a guide. The aggregate adds up grades in six subjects, so a lower total is a better result and a lower cut-off is the harder place to get. Each university says its cut-offs may change with the year's results and the places available.
- Is E8 a pass in WASSCE?
- Universities ask for credits, A1 to C6, in the required subjects, and E8 is below that. WAEC has not published a table of what counts as a pass. The WASSCE grade calculator shows how the six-subject total is worked out.
