Call Desk Agent and Administrative Assistant

Accra or remote, Ghana hours · Full time

We are opening a call desk. It makes and takes calls for businesses that need someone reliable on the phone: introducing a service, setting appointments, following up, and keeping records that can be checked afterwards. Our first project in Ghana is calling schools about their pages on SchoolRegistry Ghana.

You will help set how this desk works, and the person who does this job well will train the agents who join after them.

What you will do

Calling is most of the job, and it is not a script you read at people.

  • Make outbound calls from a prepared list, usually eighty to one hundred conversations on a full day, and record what happened on every one of them.
  • Set appointments and callbacks, and keep them. A callback you promised and did not make costs us more than a call you never made.
  • Follow up by email and WhatsApp using our templates, sent from the system so it is logged, never from your own phone or personal address.
  • Build and clean lists: check a number is right, find the person who actually makes the decision, remove what is wrong or duplicated.
  • Handle the administrative side around the calling: updating records, checking data against what the customer told you, preparing a short daily summary, keeping the shared inbox tidy, and the other office tasks that come with running a desk.

How we work, and what is not negotiable

  • Every call opens with the recording notice. No exceptions, not even for a quick one.
  • If someone says do not call again, that is final and it is honoured the moment they say it, for good.
  • You record what actually happened on a call. A note that does not match the recording is the one thing that ends this job, because the whole service depends on the record being true.
  • You never invent an answer. Saying you will find out and calling back is always the right move.

What we are looking for

  • Clear, confident spoken English, and the patience to be pleasant on the tenth call of the morning that went nowhere. If you also speak Twi, Ga, Ewe or Hausa, say so.
  • Comfortable being told no. Most calls end in no and it means nothing about you.
  • Careful with records. If you like things written down properly, you will do well here.
  • Comfortable with a spreadsheet and a shared inbox. You do not need to be technical.
  • A quiet room to work in, a laptop, a headset, internet you can rely on, and an arrangement for power that keeps you working through an outage. We will talk through your setup honestly at interview rather than assume.

Previous call centre, customer service or sales experience is useful and not required. A graduate of the SchoolRegistry Academy Lead Generation, Customer Service or Virtual Assistant tracks is very welcome to apply.

The offer

  • Weekdays, nine to five Accra time. Not a night shift, and no US hours.
  • Full time. Accra or remote from anywhere in Ghana, on a written contract.
  • Two weeks of training on the script, the systems and the product before you take a real call, and the first fifty calls are listened to with you so you get coached rather than marked.
  • Pay is discussed at interview. We will tell you the figure before you are asked to decide anything.

How to apply

Send to career@schoolregistry.ng with the subject line Call Desk Agent Ghana:

  1. 1.Your CV, one page.
  2. 2.A voice note of about two minutes. Read this out as if you were on a call, then answer the question at the end in your own words.“Good morning, my name is [your name] and I am calling from SchoolRegistry. This call is recorded. I am calling about your school’s page on our website, where parents look for schools in your area. Do you have two minutes?”Then answer: a headmaster says “who gave you my number?” What do you say?

We listen to the voice note first, before the CV. Clarity and calm matter more here than a perfect accent.

How we will assess you

  • The voice note: can we follow you easily, do you sound like a person rather than a recording.
  • A short call: we ring you unannounced during working hours to hear how you answer the phone.
  • A live exercise: you make three real calls with us listening, then tell us what you would do differently.
  • Records: we give you five call notes and ask you to spot the two that do not match what was said.

Social Media Manager and Content Creator

Accra or remote · 40 hours a week, flexible timing · Full time

You will run the social media for SchoolRegistry Ghana: the content that parents choosing a school, students waiting for results and schools that want to be found all see first. You will plan it, film it, publish it, and read what it does.

This is not a scheduling job, and it is not a behind-the-scenes job. You will be on camera. If you are not comfortable putting your face out there, in front of thousands of people, this role is not for you. If you are, you will build a following around a brand that people trust with a decision about their children’s education.

What you will do

  • Be the face of the brand on camera: explainers, school tips, exam and placement date updates, answers to the questions parents and students send us, and walk-throughs of the tools on the site.
  • Plan, film and publish on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and YouTube, and keep a content calendar so the accounts never go quiet.
  • Turn what is on the site into content people share: what the register shows about schools, regions and districts, results and placement seasons, scholarships and study abroad.
  • Cut your own video into Reels, TikToks and Shorts, in CapCut or whatever you prefer, and make graphics and carousels in Canva. AI imagery is welcome when it helps.
  • Write captions, hooks and replies in plain, warm language that parents and students understand.
  • Answer comments and messages, and send anything that needs a school or a fact check to the right person.
  • Watch what performs, say what you are seeing, and change what you are doing because of it. A short report on what worked is part of the job.
  • Bring ideas for series and campaigns, and work with the data and Academy teams on what to feature.

What we are looking for

  • You are comfortable in front of a camera and happy to put your face on the brand. This is a requirement of the role, not a bonus.
  • You have grown or run social accounts before, and you can show us.
  • You speak clearly on video, in English, and you can keep it natural. Twi, Ga, Ewe or Hausa as well is a plus.
  • You understand how each platform decides what to surface, particularly the TikTok, Instagram and YouTube feeds.
  • You can edit video to a decent standard and work in Canva.
  • You work without being managed, and you say when something has slipped rather than letting it be found out.

An interest in education, parenting, young people or careers helps. So does anything you have done with live video, community groups or school or campus media, though none of that is required.

The offer

  • A fixed monthly amount, paid monthly. We tell you the figure in writing before you are asked to decide anything.
  • Full time, 40 hours a week, and you have real say over when you work them.
  • Accra or remote from anywhere in Ghana, on a written contract.
  • Real input on what gets made, not a list handed to you, and more responsibility as the audience grows.

How to apply

Send to career@schoolregistry.ng with the subject line Social Media Manager Ghana:

  1. 1.A video of about one minute of you on camera. Say who you are, then explain to a parent in plain words how they should choose a school for their child. No editing needed. We want to see how you come across.
  2. 2.Links to two or three accounts or campaigns you have worked on, and what you actually did on each.
  3. 3.One idea for a short video series for SchoolRegistry, and the first three episodes in a line each.
  4. 4.Your availability, and your rate if it differs from what we tell you.

The video is watched first. A short, specific answer beats a long, polished one.

Nothing here for you yet?

Send your CV to career@schoolregistry.ng anyway, with a line about the kind of work you want. We keep them and we do read them when a role opens.

We never charge anyone to apply, to interview, or to start. If someone asks you for money in our name, it is not us. Applications go only to career@schoolregistry.ng. See also about SchoolRegistry Ghana.
