Is the KNUST admission list 2026/2027 out?
Not as far as KNUST's own pages show. We opened the university's undergraduate admissions page, its announcements page, its freshers' guide and its admissions portal on 12 October 2026. None of them carries a notice that a general 2026/2027 undergraduate admission list has been released, and none gives a date for it.
The announcements page lists notices up to 12 October. For admissions it shows a graduate entry veterinary medicine call (14 September) and a shortlist for the School of Medical Sciences and School of Dentistry entrance examination and interviews (12 September). A shortlist for an entrance examination is not an admission list.
This matches what the university said in September. Yen.com.gh reported a KNUST notice dated 16 September 2026 saying no official general undergraduate admission list for 2026/2027 had been released, and warning people about fake websites and social media groups. Citi Newsroom reported the same warning on 17 September.

Checked 12 October 2026.
Here are the rules in the announcement that matter most for a waiting applicant.
- Applicants with WASSCE results needed credit passes in English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science, plus three elective credits, with an aggregate of 24 or better. People writing WASSCE in July or August 2026 could also apply.
- The Ghanaian voucher cost GH¢250.
- Your name on the form had to match your certificate exactly. Wrong index number, exam year or exam type details can lead to denial of admission.
- After the West African Examinations Council released results, the portal opened for one week so applicants could correct names, index numbers, exam year and type, and programme choices.

How to check KNUST admission status
KNUST has one official place to check, its admissions portal, and checking is part of the university entry process. The undergraduate admissions page links to a "Check Admissions Status" page, and the portal home page has a "Check Status" link. Here are the steps.
- Go to the KNUST admissions portal by typing the address yourself, or follow the link from knust.edu.gh. Our page on exam and school portals is a useful starting point for other portals.
- Choose the check status option.
- Sign in with the login details from the voucher you used to apply. KNUST says the login details for the portal are strictly personal and confidential, as reported by Yen.com.gh.
- Read the result on screen. If you are admitted, follow the instructions that KNUST shows with your offer.
- If nothing shows yet, close the page and try again later. Do not buy anything from someone who says they can see your result early.
A note on the portal. When we tried the status page directly on 12 October, it returned a server error, so it may be busy. The admissions page with the sign-up steps loaded fine. If the status page will not open, wait and try again.
KNUST admission portal login problems
Use the login and PIN printed on your voucher, as the announcement says. For help, KNUST's university relations office is listed at uro@knust.edu.gh and +233 5000 99299 at the foot of its undergraduate announcements page. Use only contacts you find on knust.edu.gh.
When will the KNUST admission list be released?
We could not find a published date, and we are not going to guess one. KNUST's undergraduate announcement for 2026/2027 does not mention a release date, and neither does the applying page. It also does not say how applicants will be told.
What we can report is last year's pattern, and it is a press report, not a KNUST notice. Yen.com.gh reported on 12 December 2025 that KNUST had released its 2025/2026 undergraduate list, announced that day by the student group Voice of KNUST, and that successful applicants should log in to the portal to accept or decline. We did not find the official notice, so treat that date as reported, not confirmed. It tells us the list came in December last year. It does not tell us the date this year.
Is the KNUST admission list 2025 or 2026 on the portal now?
The 2025/2026 list is the one reported in December 2025. For the 2026/2027 intake, we found no list. Check which academic year a page is talking about, because many websites mix the years.
Is a website saying the KNUST list is out telling the truth?
Treat it as unconfirmed until it comes from KNUST. Search results are full of Facebook posts and third-party sites with confident headlines, and we could not match any of them to a KNUST notice. KNUST's own September notice, as reported by Yen.com.gh and Citi Newsroom, says it had seen a surge of social media posts, WhatsApp groups and websites claiming to offer official admission, accommodation or room-booking help. It said only its designated offices and platforms can give authoritative information.
Scams to avoid while you wait
The reported KNUST warning lists what not to do. The same advice applies to every university in Ghana.
- Do not send money to anyone who says they represent KNUST or can secure a place or a hall.
- Do not share your admission credentials or passwords. Your portal login is yours alone.
- Do not hand over personal documents to people or groups you cannot confirm are KNUST offices.
- Do not trust a screenshot of a "list" in a group chat. Open the portal yourself.
What happens after admission?
KNUST publishes a freshers' guide with the steps after an offer. The dates are not on the pages we read, so what follows is the order the pages describe, not a timetable.
- Accept your offer. The reported 2025/2026 announcement told admitted applicants to accept or decline on the portal, so the slot can go to someone else. We found no instruction on the current pages about how long you have, and we found no acceptance fee amount. If KNUST sets one for you, it will show on your own offer.
- Read the fees schedule. KNUST has a "Fees Schedule 2026/2027 Academic Year" page with separate files for undergraduate regular freshers, undergraduate fee-paying freshers and postgraduate freshers. The page itself shows no amounts. Open the file that matches you.
- Register. KNUST's registration guidelines say to pay academic fees in full, or have a part payment cleared, then pay college or department dues. Freshers bring their provisional admission letter and some form of identity to a biometric registration centre. Login details then arrive by text message, and you register on the students portal or the AIM app. You must print the registration, sign it and give it to your department examinations officer. The guidelines say failing to submit it counts as not registering. The page has no date, so confirm the current steps with your college.
- Do orientation, medical screening and matriculation. The matriculation page names orientation, registration and medical screening as compulsory. It says any student who does not matriculate without a valid reason will not be accepted as a student of KNUST. Orientation is run by each college.
What about KNUST cut-off points and courses?
KNUST prints its entry requirements and programme cut-off points in a PDF linked from the admissions pages. Our KNUST cut-off points page shows the cut-offs the way KNUST prints them, with the programme names.
The general rule in the announcement is an aggregate of 24 or better, but each programme has its own cut-off, and a cut-off is not a promise of a place. If you want to see how your grades add up, our WASSCE grade calculator shows the grades and aggregate.
Can I still apply to KNUST for 2026/2027?
For regular undergraduate and top-up programmes, KNUST says the 2026/2027 e-vouchers are closed. The mature, international and foreign-results deadlines were 31 August 2026. The postgraduate deadline was 30 September 2026, though the page still shows those forms as on sale, so ask before you assume.
Distance learning is different. The Institute of Distance Learning has top-up and diploma forms on sale with a deadline of 30 November 2026. We cover this and other open windows in our guide to universities in Ghana still taking applications, and our university admission calendar keeps the dated entries.
What we could not confirm
- A general 2026/2027 undergraduate admission list on KNUST's own pages, and any release date for it.
- How KNUST will tell applicants (portal only, or also by message). The announcement does not say.
- The acceptance deadline and any acceptance fee for 2026/2027.
- Registration, orientation and matriculation dates for new students. We read no dates on the freshers' pages.
- The 2025/2026 list date from a KNUST notice. We have only a press report.
- The KNUST status check page. It returned a server error when we tried it, so we cannot describe what it shows.
If you have a KNUST notice with a date, send it through the link on our how we verify page and we will update this guide.

Is 2026-2027 admission out?

Is the KNUST portal open?
The KNUST admissions portal page loaded for us on 12 October 2026, with sign-up and check status links. The status page itself returned a server error when we tried it, so try again later if it will not open.

Not for regular undergraduate or top-up degrees, which KNUST says are closed. You can buy distance top-up and diploma forms from the Institute of Distance Learning until 30 November 2026.
What is the KNUST application deadline?
For 2026/2027, mature, international and foreign-results applicants had until 31 August 2026. Ghanaians with WASSCE results could apply until results were released. Postgraduate forms had a 30 September 2026 deadline. Distance top-up and diploma close on 30 November 2026.
How much does the KNUST application form cost?
The Ghanaian undergraduate voucher cost GH¢250 according to KNUST's 2026/2027 announcement. International applicants pay in US dollars, but the announcement shows two different cedi figures, so we do not quote one.
Has KNUST opened admission for 2027?

What are the new KNUST cut-off points?
KNUST prints them in an entry requirements PDF linked from its admissions pages. Our KNUST cut-off points page shows them as printed. The general rule is an aggregate of 24 or better, and each programme has its own cut-off.
Is there a KNUST acceptance fee?
We could not find a published acceptance fee for 2026/2027. If one applies to you, it will appear with your own offer on the portal. Pay only through the channels KNUST names.
How do I get my KNUST admission letter?
KNUST's registration guidelines tell freshers to bring their provisional admission letter. The current pages we read do not describe how to print it, so look for it on your portal account once you are admitted, or ask the admissions office.
