The 76 tertiary colleges
Listed alphabetically. Where the Commission publishes an end date for the accreditation it is shown in brackets.
The accredited-by column names the regulator lists that carry the institution: GTEC is the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission and NMC the Nursing and Midwifery Council. None matched means the name does not appear on a regulator list, which is not a finding that the institution is unaccredited. Read from the Commission's own lists on 7 October 2026. A blank accreditation date means the Commission publishes none. Ask the college for its current accreditation letter.

Questions people ask
- Which universities in Ghana are unaccredited?
- The Ghana Tertiary Education Commission publishes lists of unrecognised and unaccredited institutions, printed in full on our universities page with the date of the notice. A college with an expired accreditation is a separate case and is marked in the table above.
- How many private universities are there in Ghana?
- The count of private universities is on our private universities page. The colleges here are counted separately because the register classes them as tertiary colleges, not universities.
- What does an expired accreditation mean?
- The Commission lists the college's institutional accreditation as having run out on the date shown. It does not say whether the college has applied to renew. Ask the college for its current letter and confirm with the Commission before you pay.
