Study abroad cost calculator

Pick a country and the calculator fills in that government's visa fees and the living money it asks you to show, each read from its own page. Type the tuition on your offer letter, any scholarship, your flights and today's exchange rate, and see the first year abroad, the same in cedis, and the money to show for the visa.

Last checked 24 October 2026. Every government figure below names its source. Tuition and the exchange rate are yours to type.

Questions people ask

How much does it cost to study abroad from Ghana?
It depends on the course and the country. The first year is the tuition on your offer letter, the living costs, the visa and government fees, and your flights. The calculator fills in the government figures for the UK, the USA, Canada, Germany and Australia and you type the rest.
How much money do I need to show for a student visa?
Each country sets its own rule. The UK asks for a year's course fee and a monthly living figure for up to nine months. Canada asks for the first year's tuition, a yearly living figure and travel. Germany asks for a blocked account for the first year. Australia asks for twelve months of course fees, a twelve-month living figure and travel. The USA asks you to show the cost on your Form I-20.
Why does the calculator not show tuition?
Tuition differs by university and course and changes every year, so any figure we printed would be wrong for most readers. Your offer letter, CAS, I-20 or confirmation of enrolment states the exact amount.
Which exchange rate should I use?
The rate on the day you will pay, from the Bank of Ghana or the bank you will pay through. Rates move every day, which is why the calculator asks for one instead of storing it.
Does SchoolRegistry help with admission or visas?
This page is information only. We do not process applications, and no figure here is a promise that a visa will be granted. Check each figure on the government page linked beside it before you pay.
Do you keep the figures I type?
No. The sums are done in your browser, and nothing you type is sent to us or stored.
